POWER OF NUMBERS means we are heard at the national political level.
We have a public policy advocate that is in Washington D.C. one week a
month and testifies before senate and house committees.

An example of an issue we have been successful in negotiating has been the tax
deduction for home offices. The White House and congress has acknowledged that
without NAWI3O that would have not passed.
(We work closely with states on local issues also)

Our national president was invited to the signing of the last tax cut bill because of
our work on behalf of small businesses.

At our PUBLIC POLICY days in Sept., the leaders of both houses and parties
come to address us and our issues.

Issues we are presently working on include:
100% HealthCare deduction
death of estate taxes so we can pass our businesses on without it being, taxed
Association HealthCare so small businesses can insure themselves and their
employees
reduction in payroll taxes
meals deduction when we entertain clients
independent contractor status clarification
5% procurement for women to do business-with government and large corporattions

MID-WINTER CONFERENCE -

Feb. 16 through 20 in Orlando. There will be a president/presidents-elect meeting
on Feb. 16 from 4 to 8 p.m. (Sharon Kadair, Pam Davis, and Janice DeLerno have
already registered.)

This conference is to help us ALL grow our individual businesses and have
seminars to do that. Also, ALL our national corporate partners and many of the
chapter local ones will have booths. There will be an electronic “Bid Board” so
members can bid on available business at the meeting.
