How do you remove an item from the New Context Menu?
We found out that there is a registry key associated with every extension that has a subkey called Shell.  If the Shell Key has a Filename or Nullfile key then it will appear under the context menu.  Just add or remove the key and you can modify your new context menu.

http://support.microsoft.com/directory/article.asp?ID=KB;EN-US;Q299953&

IMPORTANT: This article contains information about editing the registry. Before you edit the registry, make sure you understand how to restore it if a problem occurs. For information about how to do this, view the "Restoring the Registry" Help topic in Regedit.exe or the "Restoring a Registry Key" Help topic in Regedt32.exe.

SYMPTOMS:: When you install Microsoft Office 2000 Service Release 1 (SR1) or Service Pack 2 (SP2), you may be unable to save files in the .jpg format by using Microsoft Paint. After you open a .jpg file by using Paint, and then you click Save As on the File menu, the Save As type: box may not list an option to save the file in a .jpg format.

CAUSE: This behavior can occur because of an incorrect entry in the registry.

RESOLUTION WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

For information about how to edit the registry, view the "Changing Keys and Values" Help topic in Registry Editor (Regedit.exe) or the "Add and Delete Information in the Registry" and "Edit Registry Data" Help topics in Regedt32.exe. Note that you should back up the registry before you edit it. If you are running Windows NT or Windows 2000, you should also update your Emergency Repair Disk (ERD).

To resolve this behavior:

  1. Click Start , click Run , and then type: regedit to start the Registry Editor.
  2. Click the Name value under the following key in the registry:
  3. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Graphics Filters\Export\Jpeg
On the Edit menu, click Modify , type: JPEG File Interchange Format in the Value Data box, and then click OK .
  4. Click the Extensions value under the same key in the following registry:
  5. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Graphics Filters\Export\Jpeg
On the Edit menu, click Modify , type: jpg in the Value Data box, and then click OK .
  6. Quit the Registry Editor.
